Features of Android M - Google's Latest Android Version

Google Announces Android M Developer Preview 

Google announced Android M at the 2015 Google I/O Conference in San Francisco. It was Confirmed by Google that Android M will Succeed Android Lollipop later this year. The vice President of Engineering at Google , David Burke who took to stage to highlight some major features that has been added to the new Android Version.

Here’s what we know so far:
** Google has been tweaking Android to consume less battery, this is why they announced “Doze” a new feature that will ensure less battery consumption on Android. Doze will intelligently turn of your background data and Apps once it detects inactivity during a short period of time. This feature is meant to double the standby time on Android devices.

** Google has integrated Automatic App Backup system on Android M to ensure that you don’t lose your apps and their settings. This system automatically backup your phone apps to Google Drive every 24hours. The app data is automatically restored when the user changes or upgrades a device.
** Finger print scanning is not new to Smartphones. Most top-tier Android Smartphones already have this feature, but Google wants to add universal support for fingerprint scanning across its entire platform. This means that finger print scanner will soon be a casual feature on the next generation of Android Smartphones.
** Android Pay is a new payment system that will succeed Google Wallet. Android pay will facilitate quick payment of goods via NFC feature on Android Smartphones.

** Perhaps the biggest feature on Android M is Selective App Permission which gives Users Ability to choose what permissions an app can get. Take WhatsApp for example , when you want to record a voice message, the app will prompt you with a one time request to allow WhatsApp permission to use your mic: if you still wish to give it access and record the message, you can.
** USB Type-C Another Big addition is USB Type-C , the same reversible USB connector that is already been used on the latest Mac and Chromebook. Google says USB Type-C will ensure up to 3 times fast charging and can also be used to transfer data.
