What is NFC?
For Blackberry users i know this might not the strange as this is common on blackberry devices but the sad truth is most don't know what it is or to what purpose it is meant for.NFC simply means Near Field Communication, which is a short-range high frequency wireless communication that establishes radio communication between two or more NFC capable devices. NFC is capable of sharing data and information between devices over a 10cm distance range.
NFC works in three different ways which are:
NFC works in 3 modes:
1. NFC Target2. NFC Initiator
3. NFC peer to peer
Near Field Communication (NFC) is more secure over bluetooth due to its proximity and is suitable for use in crowded areas without interference. It doesn't need setting up like bluetooth (i.e no pairing, pass code, security key etc) as connection could be made in less than a second.
NFC is simply about merging our bank account, our identification and link it to a computer. This means that we can wirelessly where NFC tags are pasted on ( A contactless smartcard) through this technology . Imagine paying your bills and other stuffs with an app. Though this features are currently not available in Nigeria, it is available in other countries but NFC is available on our devices nonetheless.
Note: NFC doesn’t exhaust battery life unlike bluetooth? it doesn't use your phone’s battery to power itself.
Those are the basic things you need to know about NFC.
